After visiting numerous Montessori schools, we could not agree more with the person on the airplane. Both our children now attend BMS, and we are very impressed with their advancements in academics and social skills. BMS has the right combination of outstanding teachers and supportive parents. Our son, Sinjin Ledbetter, is a new Pre-K student at Broderick Montessori this year. We have been so gratified by the caring welcome extended by the teachers, aides, and staff. Sinjin’s initial qualms at starting a new school with new teachers and children were met with great sensitivity by Ms. VanKampen, so that, working together; we quickly devised an attendance plan that met his individual needs. We see the result now in his excited sense of social and academic competence and in his happiness with his daily school experience. The best testimonial is that when we pass by Broderick Montessori after-hours, Sinjin waves at the building and says, “Hi my school, I love you! I’ll see you next morning!”

All Montessori schools are not equal. I believe we have found the best possible school for our children in Broderick Montessori School. In fact, my sons are “second generation Broderick’s,” as my husband and his sisters were students of Mrs. Sharon Broderick (the owner) over 25 years ago! The combination of the Montessori teaching methods and philosophy along with a great staff has allowed my children to excel both academically and personally. As a parent, I also appreciate the high staff retention rate – most of the teachers have been at the school for 10 years or more. The bottom line for me is that my sons love their school! They are excited to go to school every day (and some days they don’t want to leave!). The academics and extracurricular activities are the best I have found anywhere. From the classroom lessons to their sports and gymnastics classes, from ceramics and crafts workshops to ballet and French lessons, they are exposed to a wide range of activities and challenges. They have been encouraged to branch out and explore new areas of interest.
I cannot recommend Broderick Montessori School highly enough!

I still say the worst thing we ever did was take our daughter out of Broderick Montessori School. At second grade we moved her into public school. She tested very high but had a very difficult time adjusting to the lack of organization. She was not used to how mean some children could be and how it was over looked by the adults. Not to mention the behavior problems of several children in her class. I know this would never have been tolerated at Broderick Montessori. Tate is in sixth grade now doing very well, thanks to her head start with Broderick Montessori. I know she would be doing even better if we would have kept her at Broderick Montessori. We miss everyone there and appreciate all they did for us.
